Career Education In Colleges

Career education programs are used as tools to help college students discover career choices available to them. However, many students have questions about their career path and may want to continue their education beyond the college level.

The Internet is one of the most helpful tools available to college students who want career education. A large number of websites offer personality, skill and knowledge assessments. There are many personality tests that ask students questions pertaining to career choices, and the results help students make the right choices. Assessments can help college students limit their career choices. There are several online courses that are designed to offer continuing education, and there are universities that offer all levels of degrees. Once individuals have received career education and training and skills they need, they may even find a job online.

Assessments help students find out their strengths and weaknesses, making them better able to choose a career. Some government agencies offer career education and job counseling to individuals who are looking for a career.

It may be a helpful for students to set up plan as they start planning their career education path. They need to think about their skills, standards, interests and personality. These factors reflect on the kind of career that is suitable for them. They need to decide on a career and outline exactly what they need to do to get there.

A number of online universities and career education training courses are available. Whether students want to go for a degree or recertification or training, they have to make sure that the university or organization they are opting for is accredited. Students can generally take courses at their own pace, and they can often find financing, grants and scholarships for assistance. Online classifieds and job search options are also listed for many intended careers.

How the Internet and Web Designing Changed My Life: A True Story of Building a Home Based Business

For a long time I have been longing to own a home based business but I could not get the right ideas. While working in Gulu, in northern Uganda, with a reputable child development organization, I developed an idea of making office stamps and sell them to schools, hospitals, local government, NGOs and businesses to supplement my income and grow my own home business as well. I was inspired by the fact that in all the public offices I visited, the stamps used on very important official documents were wooden with bad impressions.

In 2008, I made my business plan and even managed to secure a short term loan to purchase a computer, a stamp-making printer, designing software (CorelDraw Graphic Suite X4) and blank stamps imported from Dubai. When I finally started my home based business of making stamps in 2009, I got so motivated by making the sales I least expected. My stamps appealed to everyone because they are forge-proof and are of good quality. I made sales right from the start and I still continue to make sales now and again.

Since I was working from home and only in the evening, I found it tiresome to get customers to grow my home business and also to deliver the stamps. My only affordable free marketing strategy was the word of mouth. It does wonders for me. Customers started calling me from time to time for my services. I found it bothersome yet I still had to concentrate on my job. I decided to employ a salesperson, who disappointed me by not making any sale in two weeks. Do you know why? She lacked marketing skills.

I thought of having my own website with an aim of getting orders to make more sales. Some young man came to my office, marketing his web designing and computer maintenance services. I picked interest in web designing and he asked me to pay an equivalent of USD 1,300/- to have my website designed and hosted. He gave me a business card that bore all his contacts, including his website. But when I tried to load his website, I realized it was hosted with a free host. Besides, it made me feel that he was not an expert in web designing.

Eventually, I opted to design my own website. Luckily, I chanced on Web Design Mastery e-books, which I immediately purchased online and started reading them. It cost me some good money to print 15 books in color and to bind them. Hmm… buying the e-books was easy because I had the money. But when it came to reading them and understanding the HTML language, the language used in web designing, I was really lost. I almost gave up. But since I had spent some good amount of money and that I was enthusiastic about having a website for my home based business, I had to persevere. I read and read over until I started understanding the various codes.

After three months of reading, I started designing my first website, which I hosted with HostGator in June 2011. The actual designing took me three months. I designed, redesigned so many times. I spent sleepless nights and people around me started complaining. I got stressed up due to too much sitting and my eyes started having a blurred vision because of being on the computer for long every day.

When I finally launched my web site, it was real relief and happiness to see it working properly, thanks to the very good tutorials of Web Design Mastery. Shelley Lowery is my living hero because she opened my eyes to the internet world, where most rich guys have accumulated their wealth. Before I learned web designing, all what I knew about the internet was to surf, receive and send emails. But now, I have known much about internet businesses and even marketing. Isn’t that great!

The reason why I refer to Shelley Lowery as my living hero is that in addition to being a good teacher with her e-books, she introduced me to two other web sites in one of her e-books. This is where I had an opportunity to read about Stone Evans’ programs, which inspired me to start yet another home based business with the Plug-in Profit Site. This further widened my understanding on how I could easily accumulate wealth by just promoting other programs.

Promoting affiliate programs needed a lot of internet marketing skills, which Stone Evans took me through one by one every day and for 30 days. I am also becoming slowly an upcoming marketing expert and I recommend everyone to sign up for these wonderful programs that can change one’s life. My life has changed since then. I always thank God for giving me that vision of learning to design web sites, which opened my eyes to the Internet, where the richest guys in the world have accumulated their wealth.

This is my living testimony and I wish I had godly power to change the minds of others; I would make everyone on earth to begin promoting affiliate programs to better their lives. But because I am a normal human being, I can only use a pen to reach many people through the internet and through this article of testimony. I therefore appeal to whoever chances to read this article, to grab this wonderful opportunity by reading about how one can make money from promoting affiliate programs.

If you sign up for the programs Stone promotes, you will not only discover great home business ideas that will help you to make money from your home, but you will also learn how to market your own home based business, which is a great way of accumulating a lot of wealth from just your computer.

I now use my web site to receive orders and provide my customers and visitors with information. I know longer move up and down to pick orders. When I finish designing the stamps, I use a local courier to deliver them to my customers wherever they are. Do you see the power of the internet?

I count myself a lucky person to have multiple streams of income: my full time job, my stamp making business and my marketing business. I would like everyone not to be left behind in this era of information. Internet users are increasing everyday and they are all looking for information to better their life. Through the internet, you will really discover great home business ideas that will obviously change your life positively. This is a great opportunity worth grabbing.

Home Based Business Leads – Why We Use Them

So you have run out of people to talk to about your network marketing business? Now you’re looking for a way to find more people to expose your business to? You may have heard about the concept of home based business leads. The question is, why do we use them to build your businesses?Home based business opportunity leads work when you know why you use them. The key is you need to have the proper expectations going in.You must understand the purpose of using leads. If you are using them because you are scared to talk to the people you know, that is the wrong mentality to have. The people that you know are significantly more likely to join your business than the people that you don’t know. This is true, even in situations where you may have been involved with another business opportunity in the past. The only reason why you ever purchase a business opportunity lead is so that you can recruit that person into your business and then connect with the people that this person knows. You don’t recruit that person and then tell them to start buying leads. That is a waste of your time and money.Case in point, one of the top income earners in my upline lives in California. He purchased home based business leads and started calling them. He came across a gentleman that lives in North Carolina. He recruited that guy. This guy got off to a slow start, but he did recruit his brother in New York. His brother in New York got off to a very fast start. He hit the leadership position in the compensation plan in only 72 days. The brother had quick success but he didn’t last. However, he did end up recruiting another gentleman. That other gentleman didn’t do anything, but recruit someone that he knew who was a carpenter. The carpenter recruited only one person, but that one person ended up building a team of thousands of distributors, created a full time income on a part time basis and is closing in on a six figure income. That gentleman’s son recruited me and that’s how I got into the network marketing business. Now if my upline would have taught his recruit to do leads and not show him how to recruit his brother, that leader would have never showed up and I would have never joined this industry. You wouldn’t even be reading this article right now!So make sure you keep this fundamental fact in mind when you decide that you are going to use them to build your business. Understanding the proper use for home based business leads will help you to build a successful network marketing business with them!

Rice Diet – What You Need to Know

Overweight has always been a problem faced by many people across the world. It invariably leads to health issues such as hypertension, cardiac troubles, sleep apnea and diabetes. The only way out of this mess is to shed those extra pounds around your waist by embracing some weight loss diet plans and follow it religiously. Of which, the most popular and successful technique is the Rice diet program, formulated by Walter Kempner of Duke University. Hence it is also known as Duke University Rice Diet. The highlighting point is about Rice diet is that, unlike other popular diets, the Rice Diet is medically supervised.

Unlike the name, Rice diet program has little relation with rice. To say simply, Rice diet program is a low-fat, low-salt diet reducing obesity and maintaining good health. It is a primarily vegetarian diet which works wonders if followed punctually for two to four weeks of dieting. It is served as 3 meals a day.

The Rice diet program mainly has 2 phases:

Phase 1 – In this phase, the diet mainly comprises of fruits and grains. It is highly recommended that you undergo this phase under medical supervision. It is also recommended to continue at least for half the time you plan to do the dieting.

Phase 2 – This phase incorporates a lot more vegetables and other carbohydrate rich foods along with fruits and grains. Also you could consume fish once a week.

It is advisable to avoid dairy products, meat and fish throughout the time of Rice Diet program, until medical condition allows you to.

Salt is completely avoided in Rice Diet at Home. As per experts, while only half a gram of salt is required for the normal functioning of the human body per day, we generally consume 4-5 grams per day, which is more than 8 to 10 times the optimum amount needed daily. The excess salt in the blood can lead to swelling of body, kidney disorders, and hypertension. Hence by limiting salt you can reduce the risk of these diseases.

To conclude, rice diet program is much effective than most of the text book diets proposed by the so called expert nutritionist and dietitians. But the ultimate result depends on how effectively one has followed its recommendations.

Many time his dulled razor use to cut his skin as there was no sharpness left so he started thinking about new safety razor. A new idea about making a twin blade razor was born in which disposable blade may be put and replaced. Even though many engineers rejected the idea but he continued to experiment and today Gillette have become a billion dollar company. He introduced a low cost, disposable blade that can make close and safe shave.

Summary: He faced a problem and wanted to find an innovative solution to that problem. Although he was a salesman with limited resources but he knew that idea can be turned into money. (2). Tory Kumon: A high school mathematics teacher in Japan, Toru Kumon, became concerned because his second grade school son was bringing home poor grades in mathematics. Encouraged by his wife to find a better way to teach his son, Kumon began to examine the textbooks and exercises being used. Kumon felt that there were better ways and looked for a different method for his son. The Kumons worked together and while his wife supervised the home work of their son, Toru Kumon re-wrote the exercises and drills for his son, giving him a slightly more difficult set of problems every day. By the time the son had finished eighth grade, he was working through calculus problems, easily and correctly, and could handle work found on university entrance examinations.

Toru Kumon realized that if his son was having this problem, there would be other children in the same situation. Kumon then decided to take his methods to other parents whose children were having these same challenges. He did this by opening Kumon Learning Centers throughout Japan. Kumon was not without his critics, though. Members of the educational establishment were against him – primarily because it was not their idea. They could not refute the fact that the Kumon system works. Today kumon have more then 26000 centers in 46 countries. This is the power of a small and powerful idea!

Summary: Kumon saw a problem – poor academic performance and defined it as an opportunity – opportunity to create a learning system that would resolve the poor academic performance problems. After working with his son and finding something that work, he found he could provide this service to other parents that were having the same challenges. At the same time, he could create income for himself. He provided something of value and a lower cost than many of the alternatives.

(3)Amancio ortega: Amancio Ortega was born in the year 1936 in Spain. His father was a railway worker and his mother worked as a maid to support the family. Due to the financial problems that his family was facing, at the tender age of 13 he started working as a delivery boy at a shirt makers shop. Thereafter he worked for a lot of stores and tailors and closely studied as to how the products and cost of the products changed as they traveled from the manufacturer to the consumer. As a result of this study he became focused on the importance of getting the products directly to the consumer by eliminating the middleman. During his experience of working as a manager of a local clothing shop he realized that only rich people were able to afford high fashion clothes because of the high prices they came with. Having observed this, he was determined to manufacture high fashion clothes that were low priced and accessible to all. He continued to gain experience and knowledge while working until 1963 when he started his own company with just $25. He started designing and making fine bathrobes and started selling it to customers and also started supplying them at various stores. Later on with the profits that he earned with the help of this business he started his own factory. Today his personal worth is more then $20 billions. This is the power of innovative ideas on which a small business is developed into a business empire.

Let us try to shed some light on the innovative ideas that he used to turn his small business into a fortune.

(A)He realized that the high end fashion clothes were only accessible to rich people as only they could afford it. A major portion of the price margin was consumed by the middlemen. To eliminate this problem, he started creating high end fashion clothes or rather look-alike of top fashionable clothes for the masses at affordable prices by eliminating the middlemen. In this way then number of people who bought his clothes increased and in turn he became very popular.

Benefits to the consumer: Due to Amancio’s innovative idea, the middle class people who could not normally afford costly and latest designs were able to avail these fashionable clothes at reasonable rates.

(B)Direct Retailing: Amancio realized that middle men like wholesalers, semi wholesalers were deciding the final selling prices of these clothes and thus they ended up being very costly. Thus he opened his own string of stores called ZARA where he passed the margin that was being taken by the middle men to the customers.

(C)When Amancio started his business; the industry standard was to introduce new fashion twice a year. Thus people had to wait for a very long span of time and would visit the shop only twice a year to buy the new fashionable clothes. Amancio introduced the unique concept of instant fashion by introducing latest designs and new fashions within 2-3 weeks. This in turn pulled people to his shops many times in a month. This also helped customers by bringing new designs to them and the shopkeepers were benefited too because of the constant visits by the customers.

(D)Modifying unsold designs: Some designs do not sell as much as the popular ones. What Amancio did was to change and alter the failed designs so that they would be sold. He did this by putting up new patterns and accessories on the old designs.

(E)Advantage of information technology: To know more about what type of designs sell and what type does not sell and also to know more about the unsold stocks, Amancio took advantage of information technology that allowed him to monitor the unsold inventories. This also helped him realize the actual taste of the customers.

Summary: Amancio ortega started a small business with just $25 but today his personal net worth is more then $20 billions. At the time he started his business there were already thousands of businessmen, designers, and established fashion houses but only he was able to make it to the top because he introduced something new in his small business and rest is history.

The Finer Points of Internet Auctions

WHAT IS A PENNY AUCTION?

Penny auctions have exploded in popularity with the massive growth of the internet. However, few people know the true origins of penny auctions.Beginnings actually stretch back to the Great Depression. Those were hard times for everyone, but even harder for farmers. Farmers struggled to bring in steady income because of droughts and crops not selling as well as they had previously. As a result, the banks would foreclose on the farmers who couldn’t keep up with their mortgage payments.

The banks weren’t satisfied with just repossessing the house, they wanted to raise as much capital as possible, so they resorted to selling off the possessions of the owners of the repossessed houses. There was not much the farmers could do about it so they began bidding ridiculously low prices, pennies, on the items while threatening others who dared to bid higher than a few pennies.

The auctions of today hardly resemble their tremulous beginnings. Being part of a penny auction today is exhilarating, fun, and addictive. It combines the selling format of auctioning with a little bit of chance factored in.Auctions are a game of strategy but also a game of luck.

The premise behind penny auctions is giving people the chance to win an item at a drastically reduced price.Auctions make that possible by spreading out the cost of the product among multiple bidders. In order for a person to take part in an auction, they must pay a set price for each bid. For example, if a person wanted to bid on a fifty dollar Amazon gift card then he would spend a dollar for each time a bid placed. If he ended up winning the gift card, then he would only have spent a few dollars for a fifty dollar gift card. Usually penny auctions sell bids in packages.

HOW PENNY AUCTIONS WORK!

The main foundation of penny auctions is the pay-per-bid format. It is the key that allows bidders to win items at the fraction of their retail value and allows the auction owners to keep their site profitable. Most y auction sites run on the same premise: people pay a set amount for each bid, whenever a person places a bid within the closing seconds of the auction time will be added, the last person left with a unique bid after the clocks runs out will win the item. There are a large variety of items that can be won, but they tend to be popular electronics or gift cards to popular stores.

There are two types of auctions: lowest unique bid auction and highest unique bid auction. Lowest unique auction sounds confusing but it is actually quite simple. A unique bid is when only one person has a bid at a certain price. Bids usually start at one penny, a bidder can then place a bid at two pennies. Until another bidder places a higher bid, the most recent bidder will be the lowest unique bid because that was the only bid at two cents and nobody bid higher. However, penny auctions generally don’t stop at one penny. It is not uncommon to find auctions that end up at a couple hundred dollars based on the popularity of the item being auctioned. However, the same principles apply for those auctions. Highest unique bid auctions follow the more traditional auction format such as eBay. The person with the highest bid at the end of the auction wins the item.

Auction site owners turn a profit by selling bids. Say twenty people are bidding on a ten dollar gift card at one dollar per bid, at the end of the auction if there were twenty bids placed in total then the site owner would have made twenty dollars with a ten dollar profit.Auctions do seem like a win-win situation:The site owner makes money while the bidder gets an item for dirt cheap. However, not everyone wins in penny auctions. The people who paid one dollar each bid but left with nothing to show for their investments will not be so happy.

HOW TO WIN!

Penny auction has a lot of chance mixed into it, but one can incorporate strategy that will help raise the chances of winning. Playing smart can make all the difference between gambling and auctioning.

The first crucial tip to winning penny auctions is to know how to manage your bids. Your goal should be to win as much as possible without spending a ton of money buying bids. Managing your bids means that you should already know how much you are willing to risk in order to win an item. The amount of capital you are willing to risk will determine how many bids you can use. Once you know how many bids you have to spend on an item, then you will be better able to manage how and when you place a bid. That will keep you from blowing away all of your bids in the first few seconds of the auction.

The next tip is to practice time management. When fighting in the trenches of penny auctions, you have two enemies: other bidders and time. Knowing when to bid is a must if you want to have success. Placing a bid when there is a lot of time left on the clock is never a good idea. You have to remember that the key to winning a penny auction is being the last one standing when the clock runs out and that each bid increases the amount of time left. It would be a good practice to wait until the last few minutes of the auction before you begin to bid.

The final tip for successful auctioning is to keep your emotions under control.Auctions have a lot of similarities to gambling, and just like gambling, your spending can get out of control. If you keep your emotions level, it will keep you from making rash decisions and blowing loads of cash. Keep your mind clear so that you can gage the behavior of the other bidders and outsmart them.

HOW TO AVOID SCAM SITES!

Penny auctions are a great addition to the web whether you want to win an item that otherwise you wouldn’t be able to afford or if you simply enjoy the thrill that comes with bidding in auctions. Unfortunately, scam sites have tarnished the reputation of the legitimate penny auction sites. However, there are ways that you can protect yourself from scamers and enjoy your auctioning without having to worry about losing your money due to dishonesty.

Checking the reputation of the auction site before you start spending your hard earned money is always a good idea. Chances are other people have tried the site before you and some of them have left reviews. The reviews are your way to gage whether a auction site is trustworthy or not. If a site is getting overwhelmingly negative reviews, then that is a clear indication that you should steer your business elsewhere.

Another tool you can use to protect yourself is checking the Alexia ranks of the auction sites. Alexia rank will give a solid view of how much traffic the auction is getting. If you see a huge difference in the amount of traffic Alexia is projecting and the amount of active bidders on the site, then warning signals should be ringing in your head. Some auction sites have been known to set up robots that automatically bid on projects in order to keep the auction going and inflate the price. That is known as shill bidding. You can sniff out those sites by comparing the traffic the site should be getting to the amount of users using this site.

CONCLUSION!

New legislation may come out later down the road that will officially make penny auctions gambling, but until then, it is a fun, exciting auction that allows one to win the item they’ve always wanted but couldn’t afford.Auctions are also quite lucrative for the site owners because of the pay-per-bid strategy they’ve incorporated. Penny auctions had humble beginnings with farmers who just wanted to get back at the banks who kicked them out of their house. More recently, auctions have enjoyed an explosion in popularity with the rise of the internet.

There are two main formats fora auctions, lowest and highest unique auction, however they both run on the same premise where the last unique bid wins the item. Winning a penny auction will require a certain amount of mental tactic and a bit of luck. However, you can increase your odds of winning by practicing certain techniques such as managing your bids wisely, learning how to work with the time, and keeping a level head and your emotions under control. When you combine those three strategies to your bidding plan, you will find that you win a lot more often.

It is important that you do your due diligence to protect yourself when participating in auctions. Not every auction is run by honest and trustworthy people. There are people out there who just want to take your money. You can protect yourself by ensuring that you only bid on sites that already have a very positive reputation from real users.
